Brandtroducing Baxter!
Every outstanding brand is recognized by a very specific unique selling proposition. For me, with Baxter, it's the material feel. Everything seems soft, deep, natural. Almost as if the leather had always belonged there. Nothing is spruced up or merely decorative. Instead, the furniture exudes a calm, very mature form of luxury.
Baxter was founded in 1990 in that northern Italian region between Brianza and Milan, where craftsmanship and design culture condense in a special way. Around Brianza, a dense network of workshops, suppliers, and design culture developed early on, making the region a core area of Italian furniture design to this day. Behind the brand are Luigi and Paolo Bestetti, entrepreneurs from a family of saddlemakers. Their aspiration was clear from the start: to continue the Italian furniture tradition and, at the same time, to focus on the most beautiful characteristics of a very specific material, namely leather.
This remains Baxter's special characteristic to this day. The brand was born from a passion for leather, but has long since expanded its horizons. In addition to leather, marble, fine woods, metals, fabrics, and resins now play an important role. Baxter itself beautifully describes this journey: a distinctive signature emerges from leather, mastery, curiosity, and beauty.
Our customers appreciate this too: Baxter items sometimes leave our warehouse faster than we can keep track. We offer an industrial-design metal coffee table and a minimalist leather daybed, which I'll introduce to you directly here:
I also find it exciting that Baxter's world today extends far beyond the individual piece of furniture. In 2015, the brand took over the historic President Cinema in the center of Milan and transformed it into a special place between interior design and hospitality. In 2022, Casa sul Lago on Lake Como was added as another venue where Baxter reimagines its living vision every year. This fits a brand that doesn't just want to show products, but conveys a genuine lifestyle.
And although Baxter stands for opulence, haptics, and atmosphere, the responsible side is not overlooked. Among other things, the company has an in-house environmental management system that systematically examines its own processes and impacts. In addition, according to its own statements, the company's headquarters, which it moved into in 2011, was the first publicly used Class A Climate House in Europe to be certified. It is precisely this combination of craftsmanship, durability, and conscious use of materials that makes Baxter interesting for me from a Revive perspective. Because beautiful furniture should never just impress, but express the permanence of beauty.
In keeping with Baxter, I have compiled my Italian highlights for you below this blog post.
