Every day, furniture arrives at our facility for refurbishment. After all, our concept thrives on bringing high-quality designer furniture back into circulation, fresh as new. This naturally means we encounter furniture from the most diverse eras, styles, and design philosophies daily: simple classics, iconic designs, and impressively crafted unique pieces.

Most furniture is designed to blend easily and harmoniously into its surroundings. But there are others that deliberately break the mold. They are playful, bold, sometimes even a little eccentric. One might think that by now we've seen everything in furniture design. Yet, even for us, there are always pieces that surprise.

Because time and again, designs arrive that are so loud, so unconventional, or simply "crazy" that they divide opinions. And honestly? Among all the wonderful classics, we are always a little happy when a piece of furniture arrives that first makes you smile, and five minutes later you somehow find it quite ingenious.

Furniture that might make you look twice. That makes you wonder what inspired the designer to develop that particular shape or concept.

This can be due to innovative functions, such as with Varier's kneeling chair. When it first came to market, it posed a question that was quite unusual at the time: Does sitting always have to look the same? By promoting a forward-leaning sitting position, it encourages a more active posture and more movement in everyday life. A concept that seems more relevant than ever today.

Sometimes, however, it's also about extraordinary shapes. A Leolux Parabolica almost looks more like a sculpture than a seat. The Cassina Wink gains its own personality through its quirky adjustable headrests. And Bretz's designs have shown for decades that furniture can be not only functional but also emotional, playful, and sometimes quite deliberately extravagant.

And experience shows: Some people fall in love with such pieces immediately. Others shake their heads and wonder who would voluntarily put such a thing in their living room. And both are perfectly fine. This is also one of the most beautiful aspects of our concept. Through our work, we encounter the most diverse ideas of what sustainable living can look like.
