The desk – probably the most important workspace at Revive
Have you ever visited us in Cologne?
If so, you might have discovered some areas with us: the showroom, the large warehouses, or perhaps even our workshops, where a wide variety of tasks come together every day.
(By the way: If you want to view a specific piece of furniture from our warehouse, you can of course do so. You can simply book an appointment via the product website or via this link)
When you visit us, you quickly see that many different departments work together here. One of them might seem inconspicuous at first glance, but is still quite important: The desk.
Because before a piece of furniture can be seen in our showroom or online, a lot happens behind the scenes. Many different steps, many people, and a lot of information need to come together: data is processed, appointments and tasks are coordinated, customers are advised, and processes are planned. Much of this begins or ends – quite unspectacularly – at the desk.
And let's be honest, the desk is actually not a classic crowd-pleaser among furniture. Not even in your own home. A sofa invites you to lean back, a dining table brings people together, and an armchair promises a break. The desk, on the other hand, remains inextricably linked to work for many.
Perhaps this is precisely where its special role lies. Because a desk must accompany us in everyday life and ideally also support us. A pleasant surface, the right height, enough space, and a design that suits you. All of this influences how much you like to sit at this place and how much you like to work here.
And everyone works differently. Some people like a completely tidy desk with only a laptop and notebook on it. Others need organized chaos. Some need a lot of space for multiple devices and well-thought-out cable management, while others prefer a quiet, clear place for concentrated work. Even more unusual models constantly find their way to us. For example, a USM Kitos desk with a tiltable work surface.
I find the upper storage surface, which does not tilt with the main surface, particularly practical and unique.
Personally, I think these models are great. If I only had a little more space, such a desk would move into my home immediately. Somehow, for me, they have something wonderfully analog about them, as if they automatically invite you to draw more, put ideas on paper, or simply work in a focused manner.
And I think that's precisely the most beautiful aspect of a desk: It's not just a place where tasks are completed. It can be a place where ideas are born, plans grow, things are tried out, and new projects are started.
A place where something is created.
With this in mind, I have compiled six desks for you, each with its own unique character. Perhaps you'll find the piece of furniture among them that perfectly suits your way of working.
