Revive introduces itself | Today: Lukas – the friendly all-rounder

Lukas from the Revive team
A cheerful jack-of-all-trades: Lukas

We want to show you who's behind Revive ! In this format, we regularly take you behind the scenes – where ideas , craftsmanship , and passion come together.

Our team is the heart of Revive: Everyone brings their own perspective and unique talents. Today we're talking with: Lukas!

Lukas, what do you do at Revive?

I work in purchasing at Revive. We ensure that new stock arrives and coordinate our customers' pre-orders.

We handle virtually everything that happens before the furniture is sold in our shop: We negotiate the purchase price with the customer, make organizational agreements, and create the product data sheets. To ensure that the furniture arrives with as much information as possible, we try to find out exact measurements—the manufacturers have specified the dimensions—and enter this data.

Ultimately, our main focus is on purchasing furniture and filling and keeping our warehouse full.

How did you come to Revive and what did you do before?

I'd been "under the radar" at Revive for a while. Founder Paul and I met in 2021 through Fiverr, a platform for freelancers. Initially, I did what my brother now does: creating purchases in the system from home in the back office, while Paul was still doing the purchasing himself. Later, Paul asked if I could imagine doing this full-time.

Before working for Revive, I worked for a logistics company, managing the office and organizing things like logistics, warehousing, and transportation.

How can you contribute your personal special skills here?

I work efficiently and quickly, delivering high quality. When purchasing was practically my sole responsibility for a while, I simply worked through tickets and emails. I always maintain a good overview from the top, recognize points where we need to start, and am decisive. In my day-to-day work, I find it easy to make concrete suggestions for possible courses of action. And because we work with a lot of personal responsibility and on equal terms at Revive, I can put these skills to good use here. It suits me well that not all structures are rigidly imposed from the top.

How would you describe your work in one word or sentence

Fun! I enjoy coming to work; I enjoy the job and working with my colleagues.

What do you do when you're not working at Revive?

I'm a bit of a workaholic and self-employed on the side. I also enjoy sports: On Tuesdays, we play badminton here during our lunch break. Revive got me into the marathon world; I currently try to run at least once a week and choose one or two events a year. I have a young son and spend as much time as possible with him and my wife—playgrounds and activities with children, that is. I also really enjoy going to the movies; since the little one arrived, I've really started celebrating that again.

What is your biggest dream?

Being happy – in the sense of truly knowing when and what makes me happy. I'm working on personal development and trying to figure out what fulfills me, especially in combination with my busy work schedule. Family, apartment, job – that's happiness, but I want to be able to say: I'm happy. I also want to infect others with my positive attitude.

Do you have a favorite piece of furniture from us?

We actually have a "piece of furniture of the week" in our open-plan office, which we present to each other every week. Today it was the B&B Italia Alanda coffee table – I think it's really cool; I'm still fighting at home for permission to buy it (the glass needs cleaning...). It was one of the first pieces that stuck in my mind when I was shopping. I also like the Eames , but the Alanda is truly "outside the box" for me.

How do you personally define sustainability?

For me, sustainability means building something that will last—ideally for generations. An Eames chair that grandfather buys, which is passed down to father, and which the grandson sits on: If a piece of furniture lasts 50, 60, or 80 years, it has served its purpose. For me, it's not just about recycling, but also about durability and passing it on.

Finally, is there anything else you would like to say?

Let's try to make the world a better place together. Spread positivity, treat people kindly – even in purchasing, where you sometimes negotiate with someone who's having a bad day. I remain friendly, and often that opens something emotionally. I study mirror neurons: Our environment shapes us. I want to surround myself with people who are positive and motivated and who promote good causes. Our time is limited – let's make the most of it!
