Mara in the Revive Showroom

Hey! We want to show you who's behind Revive! In this format, we regularly take you behind the scenes – where craftsmanship, passion, and ideas come together. Our team is the heart of Revive: Everyone brings a unique perspective and special talents. Today we're stopping by the showroom and talking with: Mara!

Mara, what do you do at Revive?
I'm on the sales team. This means I sit in the showroom , work with the sales team, and am responsible for online customer service. This includes appointments with customers—whether in person or via video—and handling incoming calls and emails. Thanks to my studies in architecture and interior design, I have a good visualization and can support customers in planning their interiors.

How did you come to Revive?
I'm a full-time student and also self-employed as an artist and in the field of speech and voice. I was looking for a supplementary mini-job – actually, I'd preferred something simple – but then I suddenly stumbled upon Revive! I immediately liked the concept of giving used designer furniture a second life, especially since I'd already worked in other designer furniture showrooms and at the imm (furniture fair). I thought the idea was great and was impressed by what (the two founders) Paul and Jonas had built. I'd just submitted my application when Kathi from HR called me. We hit it off immediately on the phone, and during the interview with Jonas, we clicked straight away.

How can you contribute your personal special skills here?
I'm very curious, empathetic, and interested in many topics. This helps me in my customer service because I'm good at empathizing with other people. I use my creativity and imagination to engage with each client in a new way. Everyone comes to us with different needs and moods. A large part of my job is finding out and understanding what each individual needs, building a bridge between my expertise, our furniture, and the client's wishes.

How would you describe your work here in one word or sentence?
I'm going home with more energy than when I arrived!

What do you do when you're not working at Revive?
As an artist, I dedicate myself to various areas: poetry, singing, painting, performing, and my own event series (Poetry Jam). As a freelancer, I create learning content and a podcast featuring my voice. These are used for a German learning platform that, for example, medical professionals use to prepare for their specialist language exams. I also sing in a choir project and dance Cuban salsa.

What is your biggest dream?
For me, that's self-fulfillment. A life in which I have a "toolbox" for my mental and personal development, so that I feel confident in every situation. A deep, fundamental trust in myself—both professionally, artistically, and personally. I hope to remain flexible on my path and be able to adapt to circumstances without losing my connection to myself and those close to me. Ups, downs, and even phases of stagnation are part of it. What's important is that I grow.

Do you have a favorite piece of furniture that Revive has or has had in its inventory?
I'm constantly falling in love! It's hard to choose. The Cassina LC2 in beige is great. I really like Cassina and Koinor , and Bretz also has a few pieces like the "Ocean 7" in olive green, which I think is really great and unusual.

How do you personally define sustainability?
When people think of sustainability, they immediately think of extreme measures—such as living a waste- and plastic-free life or something similar. For me, sustainability means gradually developing a greater awareness of the environment, our surroundings, and ourselves. It's the small decisions, like buying loose apples instead of those wrapped in plastic. Or reusing used items in our personal environment.

Is there anything else you would like to say to the world?
Take moments to slow down – even if it's just once a day! Feel what's going on inside you. Learn to pause every now and then. Try to treat those around you with more understanding and take things less personally.
